Taxonomy
Chuanqianoproetus guizhouensis was named by Yin and Li (1978) [Yin in Yin and Li 1978]. Its type specimen is Gt-385 (dorsal shield) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Donghuaxi, which is in a Telychian marine mudstone in the Xiushan Formation of China.
