Synonyms
  • Protitanotherium mongoliense was named by Osborn (1923). Its type specimen is Amer. Mus. 18653, a partial skeleton (right lower jaw and foot bones), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 23 miles South of Iren Dabasu (AMNH), which is in an Irdinmanhan terrestrial horizon in the Irdin Manha Formation of China.

    It was recombined as Rhinotitan mongoliense by Granger and Gregory (1943); it was considered a nomen dubium by Mihlbachler (2008).
  • Sivatitanops rugosidens was named by Pilgrim (1925). Its type specimen is GSI C339, a set of teeth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sinzwe, Pondaung Sandstone, which is in a Bartonian terrestrial sandstone/siliciclastic in the Pondaung Formation of Myanmar.

    It was considered a nomen dubium by Mihlbachler (2008).
  • Rhinotitan orientalis was named by Yanovskaya (1957) [The holotype consists of several fragments assigned to PIN 858 that are all from a single individual according to Yanovskaya (1957): 88, part of a left M2; 35, canine fragment; 36, canine fragment; 80–81, left m3 fragment; 82, trigonid of left molar; 78, talonid of right molar; 83, trigonid of left molar; 79, talonid of right molar; 85, fragment of right P3 or P4 and trigonid of right m1; 84, right p3, 86, right p3 trigonid; 39, part of right lower canine; 24, upper incisor; 71, lower incisor; 99, right semilunar bone.]. Its type specimen is PIN 858 and is a 3D body fossil.

    It was considered a nomen dubium by Lucas (2006) and Mihlbachler (2008).
  • Rhinotitan quadridens was named by Xu and Chiu (1962). Its type specimen is IVPP V2651, a set of teeth, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Lunan beds, Anren village, Lunan, which is in an Eocene terrestrial horizon in the Lumeiyi Formation of China.

    It was considered a nomen dubium by Mihlbachler (2008).
