Taxonomy
Rostrotortus dissimilis was named by Tasch (1961). Its type specimen is W.U. 306 and is a mold. Its type locality is Annelly VIII, bed 2, which is in an Artinskian lacustrine lime mudstone in the Wellington Formation of Kansas. It is the type species of Rostrotortus.
