Taxonomy
Indolophus was named by Pilgrim (1925). It is not extant. Its type is Indolophus guptai.
It was assigned to Tapiroidea by Carroll (1988); and to Indolophidae by Prothero and Schoch (1989) and Tsubamoto et al. (2003).
