Taxonomy
Winterbergia (Eowinterbergia) transversa was named by Yuan and Xiang (1998). Its type specimen is GPIN 96715, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Winterbergia (Eowinterbergia).
It was recombined as Eowinterbergia transversa by Basse and Lemke (2020).
