Taxonomy
Tringa antiqua was named by Fedducia (1970). Its type specimen is UMMP V25800, a limb element (left humerus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Saw Rock Canyon (Lower), which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Rexroad Formation of Kansas.
