Drevermannia adorfensis was named by Richter (1913).

It was recombined as Drevermannia (Palpebralia) adorfensis by Richter and Richter (1927); it was recombined as Palpebralia (Palpebralia) adorfensis by Hahn and Hahn (1975); it was recombined as Rudybole adorfensis by Feist and McNamara (2013).

R. Feist and K. J. McNamara 2013Rudybole adorfensis is characterized by the sudden outward excursion of the anteriormost facial sutures. Closely related specimens occurring in the Canning Basin are assigned to R. adorfensis angusta subsp. nov.
