Taxonomy
Cyrtosymbole (Mirabole) kielanae was named by Osmólska (1962). Its type specimen is IG 17l.II .78a and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Karczówka, which is in a Tournaisian marine shale in the Radlin Formation of Poland.
It was recombined as Mirabole (Mirabole) kielanae by Yuan and Xiang (1998); it was recombined as Mirabole kielanae by Gandl et al. (2015).

Xiang 1998 | A typical species of Mirabole (Mirabole) Osmolska, 1962 with the following features : Cranidium gently vaulted, strongly arched anteriorly; glabella truncated conical in outline , slightly constricted before inconspicuous eye ridges , broadly rounded anteriorly; glabellar furrows on the surface of carapace are hardly perceptible in adults; occipital furrow rather deep and broad on internal mould, narrow and distinct on the surface of carapace, shallowing laterally, isolating from the dorsal furrows; occipital ring slightly narrowing laterally; dorsal furrow distinct, deepened in front of glabella ; preglabellar field absent; anterior border broad, flatly padded, with 2-3 terrace lines on its outer portion; anterior border furrow relatively broad and shallow, not interrupting in front of glabella; anterior branches of facial sutures ( ;3 - r ) relatively short, slightly divergent forward, posterior branches of facial sutures ( c - S ) long, slanting posterolaterally; palpebral lobe relatively long and narrow; free cheek with moderately long genal spine ; pygidium semielliptical in outline, with ill-defined slightly padded broad border and suppressed relief of axial rings and pleural ribs in adults, but on internal mould or juvenile pygidium with 9-10 axial rings and a short postaxial ridge; 6-7 pairs of pleural ribs are distinct; sculpture on the surface of cranidium and pygidium consists of fine scaly ridges up to granules or smooth. |
