Taxonomy
Amaea trifolia was named by Squires and Saul (2003). Its type specimen is LACMIP 12991 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UCLA loc. 4217, Clover Creek, which is in a Santonian marine sandstone in the Redding Formation of California.
