Xiang 1998 | A new genus of Cyrtosymbolinae Hupe, 1953 with the following characteristic combination of features: Glabella relatively long, truncated conical in outline, broadly rounded anteriorly, with 3 pairs of distinct glabellar furrows, of which the S1 is extremely deeply incised and isolated from the dorsal furrows; occipital furrow deeply incised, slightly bending forward laterally; anterior border furrow deep; preglabellar field very narrow or absent; anterior branches of facial sutures long, moderately divergent forward, posterior branches of facial sutures relatively long , slanting backwards and outwards; palpebral lobe short, strongly projecting outwards; eye medium in size; free cheek with moderately long genal spine; pygidium long, semielliptical in outline, with narrow demarcated border and distinct border furrow ; axis narrow and long, with more than 12-15 axial rings; pleural lobe rather broad and flat, with 9-12 pairs of pleural ribs , of which anterior and posterior bands are equally developed ; pleural furrows deep, interpleural furrows faint; sculpture on the surface of exoskeleton consists of fine sparsely distributed granules and undulated or squamous crests. |
