Dryosaurus elderae
Taxonomy
Dryosaurus elderae was named by Carpenter and Galton (2018). Its type specimen is CM 3392, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dinosaur National Monument Quarry (CM), which is in a Tithonian coarse channel fill sandstone in the Morrison Formation of Utah.

Galton 2018 | Teeth with broad midline ridge and up to three fine longitudinal ridges on the enameled surface; horizontal maxillary ramus of jugal below orbit deep, compared with slender ramus in D. altus and D. lettowvorbecki (or Dysalotosaurus lettowvorbecki); basal tuberae are massive projections separated by a midline sulcus, versus posteroventral sheet or wedge and no sulcus in D. altus and D. lettowvorbecki; anterior cervical vertebrae low compared to length, comparably shorter and taller in D. altus and D. lettowvorbecki; ilium long and low, especially the postacetabular process, more similar to D. lettowvorbecki than D. altus. |
