Taxonomy

Eucholoeops was named by Amegino (1887).

It was assigned to Megatheriidae by Lydekker (1894); to Tardigrada by Gaudin (1995); and to Megalonychidae by Ameghino (1891), Ameghino (1894), Carroll (1988), Pujos et al. (2007), Varela et al. (2019) and De Iuliis et al. (2024).
