Taxonomy
Hesperorthis biconvexa was named by Stigall Rode (2005). Its type specimen is USNM 109962 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 0.5 miles northwest of Eidson, Kyles Ford, which is in an Ashbyan carbonate limestone in the Lincolnshire Formation of Tennessee.
