Taxonomy

Tubulodon was named by Jepsen (1932). It is not extant. Its type is Tubulodon taylori.

It was assigned to Tubulidentata by Pickford (1975); to Epoicotheriidae by Jepsen (1932) and Rose (1978); and to Palaeanodonta by Carroll (1988).

Synonyms

Alocodon was named by Rose et al. (1977) [preoccupied].

It was replaced with Alocodontulum by Rose et al. (1978) and Carroll (1988); it was synonymized subjectively with Tubulodon by Rose et al. (1991) and Rose and Lucas (2000).

It was assigned to Epoicotheriidae by Rose et al. (1977) and Rose (1978).
Pentapassalus was named by Gazin (1952).

It was synonymized subjectively with Tubulodon by Rose et al. (1991) and Rose and Lucas (2000).

It was assigned to Epoicotheriidae by Gazin (1952) and Rose (1978).
