Multifissoolithus was named by Zhang et al. (2019). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type is Multifissoolithus chianensis.

It was assigned to Dongyangoolithidae by Zhang et al. (2019), Imai et al. (2021) and Zhang (2022).

Horizontal accretion lines throughout the whole eggshell.
