Taxonomy
Lithomphalus enderlini was named by Kiel and Campbell (2005). Its type specimen is CAS 69275 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM loc. 2366, Rocky Creek, which is in a Valanginian basinal (carbonate) limestone in the Crack Canyon Formation of California.
