Taxonomy
Torosocyathus was named by Kashina (1972) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Atda-u Cm Boto-l]. Its type is Torosocyathus provisus. It is the type genus of Torosocyathidae.

It was assigned to Ajacicyathida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Torosocyathidae by Debrenne et al. (2015).
