It was recombined as Serridentinus floridanus by Osborn (1923) and Gazin and Collins (1950); it was recombined as Ocalientinus floridanus by Osborn (1942); it was recombined as Amebelodon floridanus by Shoshani and Tassy (1996) and Lambert and Shoshani (1998).
