Taxonomy
Opsigonus megaluriformis was named by Gorjanović-Kramberger (1882). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Hvar Island (Zagreb collection), which is in a Cenomanian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Starigrad Limestone Formation of Croatia.
