Anaptomorphus aemulus

Taxonomy
Anaptomorphus aemulus was named by Cope (1872). Its type specimen is AMNH. 5010, a mandible (left ramus of mandible with P4-M2, inclusive), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ham's Fork, which is in a Bridgerian terrestrial horizon in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.

Synonyms
  • Anaptomorphus wortmani was named by Gazin (1958) [type is from an unknown locality in the Bridger Formation NOT the same as Anemorhysis wortmani]. Its type specimen is Y.P.M. No. 13233, a mandible (right ramus of mandible with M1-M3, inclusive), and it is a 3D body fossil.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Anaptomorphus aemulus by Szalay (1976) and Gunnell (1995).
