Kamopanorpa sivchikovi was named by Bashkuev and Sukatsheva (2021). Its type specimen is PIN 5386/1, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Belyi Yar (PIN collection 5386), which is in a Wordian terrestrial horizon in the Izykh Formation of the Russian Federation.
