Microtus guildayi

Taxonomy
Microtus guildayi was named by van der Meulen (1978) [Holotype: fig. 7A]. Its type specimen is CM 20333, a mandible (mandible dext. with m1-m2), and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Allophaiomys guildayi by Repenning (1983), Pfaff (1990), Repenning (1992) and Morgan and White (1995).

J. van der Meulen 1978Medium sized Microtus species, with lengtehned and somewhat complicated anteroconid complex; the mea of A/L equals or is greater than 44.5, but is less than 46.3; the mean of B/W equals or is greater than 23.0, but is less than 28.0, the mean of C/W equals or is greater than 20.0; the mean of W'/W equals or is greater than 76.0 but is less than 85.0. Microtus guildayi differs from Microtus sp. from Wathena and Kentuck in having higher mean A/L and W'/W values and lower mean B/W and C/W values; Microtus guildayi differs from Microtus llanensis Hibbard in having lower mean A/L and W'/W values and higher mean B/W value; it differs from Microtus nutiensis Chaline and Microtus burgondiae Chaline in having higher mean B/W value.
