Taxonomy
Proetus dillensis was named by Drevermann (1901). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Langenaubach (Drevermann collection), which is in a Famennian carbonate limestone in the Nehden Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Franconicabole dillensis by Jell and Adrain (2002); it was recombined as Cyrtosymbole (Franconicabole) dillensis by Alberti (1976) and Feist et al. (2003).
