Taxonomy
Blastomeryx vigoratus was named by Hay (1924). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Garvin Gully, which is in a Hemingfordian terrestrial horizon in the Oakville Formation of Texas.
It was recombined as Longirostromeryx vigoratus by Frick (1937) and Patton (1967); it was considered a nomen dubium by Patton (1969) and Prothero (2008).
