Brontops tyleri

Taxonomy
Megacerops tyleri was named by Lull (1905). Its type specimen is Amherst College Zoological Collection No. 327, a skeleton (mostly complete skeleton), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bear Creek (Middle Titanotherium Beds), which is in a Chadronian fluvial-lacustrine siliciclastic in the Chadron Formation of South Dakota.

It was recombined as Diploclonus tyleri by Osborn (1929); it was recombined as Brontops tyleri by Mader (1989) and Mader (1998).
