Bryanictis microlestes

Taxonomy
Didymictis microlestes was named by Simpson (1935). Its type specimen is UNSM 9302, a mandible (left dentary with p4-m2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gidley Quarry, which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in the Fort Union Formation of Montana. It is the type species of Didymictis.

It was recombined as Protictis microlestes by MacIntyre (1966), Rose (1981) and Flynn and Galiano (1982); it was recombined as Bryanictis microlestes by Gingerich and Winkler (1985), Fox and Youzwyshyn (1994), Meehan and Wilson (2002) and Scott et al. (2013).
