Penetrigonias dakotensis

Caenopus dakotensis was named by Peterson (1920). Its type specimen is Amer. Mus. Nat. Hist. No. 1110, a mandible, and it is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Penetrigonias.
It was recombined as Penetrigonias dakotensis by Prothero (1998) and Prothero (2005).
