Taxonomy
Planetoceras destrictum was named by Korn et al. (2022). Its type specimen is MfN MB.C.30385, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TIM-C7, Sebkha de Timimoun, which is in a Chadian carbonate limestone in the Argiles de Timimoun Inférieur Formation of Algeria.
