Taxonomy
Knightoceras louphaphontaensis was named by Ramsbottom and Moore (1961). Its type specimen is BGS Z1 7426, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality U, Main Cornavannoge River, which is in a Brigantian marine shale in Ireland.
