Gordoniconus beargulchensis
Taxonomy
Gordoniconus beargulchensis was named by Mapes et al. (2010). Its type specimen is AMNH 50267/43264, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bear Gulch (AMNH collection), which is in an Arnsbergian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Heath Formation of Montana. It is the type species of Gordoniconus.
