Taxonomy
Meiogyne purniyagiriensis was named by Prasad et al. (2017). It is not extant. Its type specimen is BSIP Museum No. 412293, a leaf. Its type locality is Hanuman Chatti, Purniyagiri Road Locality 1, which is in a Miocene fluvial claystone in the Lower Formation of India.
