Taxonomy
Reevesia oligocenica was named by Suzuki (1976). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Laboratory of Phylogenetic Botany, Chiba University, No. 71189, a wood. Its type locality is Koinoura, Tsuyazaki, which is in an Oligocene terrestrial tuff in the Tsuyazaki Formation of Japan.
