Taxonomy
Rosa fortuita was named by Su and Zhou (2016). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Kunming Institute of Botany, PC2014005, a leaf. Its type locality is Dashidong, Wenshan (shale unit), which is in a Miocene lacustrine - large shale in the Xiaolongtan Formation of China.
