Taxonomy
Palaeocarya longialata was named by Xie and Sun (2010). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Institute of Palaeontology and Stratigraphy, Lanzhou University, FTP-1-322-17, a seed/fruit. Its type locality is Tuantian Diatomite Mine, Tengchong, which is in a Pliocene fluvial diatomite in the Mangbang Formation of China.
