Taxonomy
Blarina adamsi was named by Hibbard (1953). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fox Canyon, which is in a Blancan terrestrial horizon in the Rexroad Formation of Kansas.
It was recombined as Cryptotis adamsi by Repenning (1967), Choate (1970), Kurten and Anderson (1980) and Jones et al. (1984).
