Taxonomy
Dipterocarpoxylon chowdhurii was named by Ghosh (1956). It is not extant. Its type locality is Buri-Dehing River between Nahorkatiya and Margherita, which is in a Miocene fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Tipam Formation of India.
