Daphoenus ruber

Taxonomy
Daphoenus ruber was named by Stock (1932). Its type specimen is CIT 845, a mandible (a fragment of the left ramus of the mandible with p4, M1 and m2 and with the alveoli for p2, p3 and m3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tecuya Canyon, which is in an Arikareean terrestrial horizon in the Tecuya Formation of California.
