Taxonomy
Paleosantalaceaepites primitiva was named by Biswas (1962). It is not extant. Its type locality is Tura-Dalu Road Section, which is in an Eocene fluvial-lacustrine horizon in the Tura Formation of India.

It was synonymized subjectively with Paleosantalaceaepites dinoflagellata by Lakhanpal et al. (1976).
