Dinohippus leardi

Taxonomy
Pliohippus leardi was named by Drescher (1941). Its type locality is North Tejon Hills, which is in a Tortonian terrestrial horizon in the Chanac Formation of California.

It was synonymized subjectively with Pliohippus fairbanksi by MacFadden (1998); it was recombined as Dinohippus leardi by Whistler and Burbank (1992), Hulbert (1993) and Kelly (1998).
