Dinohippus subvenus

Taxonomy
Dinohippus subvenus was named by Quinn (1955) [type locality is 18610]. Its type specimen is BEG 31132-333, a mandible (Right lower jaw lacking symphysis and ascending ramus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bridge Ranch, Normanna, which is in a Clarendonian terrestrial sandstone/claystone in the Goliad Formation of Texas.

It was synonymized subjectively with Pliohippus supremus by Webb (1969) and Forsten (1975); it was synonymized subjectively with Pliohippus pernix by Hulbert (1988); it was considered a nomen dubium by Azzaroli (1988).
