Taxonomy
Domninoides valentinensis was named by Reed (1962). Its type specimen is UCMP 33152, a mandible (right ramus with p1, p3-p4, m2-3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fort Niobrara, which is in a Barstovian terrestrial horizon in the Valentine Formation of Nebraska.
