Taxonomy
Ectoganus gliriformis was named by Cope (1874) [genotype]. Its type locality is Arroyo Blanco (Cope), which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the San Jose Formation of New Mexico. It is the type species of Ectoganus.
