Eodelphis cutleri
Taxonomy
Cimolestes cutleri was named by Woodward (1916). Its type specimen is BMNH M11532, a mandible (part of a right mandible with the crowns of P3 and M2-3, roots of P1-2, M1 and M4 and alveolus for C), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 6.4 km below mouth of Berry Creek, which is in a Judithian terrestrial horizon in the Oldman Formation of Canada.
It was synonymized subjectively with Boreodon matutinus by Sahni (1972); it was recombined as Eodelphis cutleri by Simpson (1928), Simpson (1929), Hay (1930), Russell (1952), Clemens (1966), Clemens (1979), Fox (1981), Archibald (1982), Montellano (1992), Kielan-Jaworowska et al. (2004) and Fox and Naylor (2006).
