Catastropheichthys almondi

Rhadinichthyiformes - Willomorichthyidae

Taxonomy
Catastropheichthys almondi was named by Evans (2005) [Unpublished PhD thesis]. Its type specimen is AM 4596 B, a partial skeleton (skull and anterior postcranium), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Schiethoogte 279, which is in a Tournaisian lacustrine - large mudstone/marl in the Waaiport Formation of South Africa.
