Taxonomy
Gerastos ainrasifus was named by Gibb and Chatterton (2010) [2004 Gerastos? sp. 1 Basse and Müller, pl. 21, fig. 276]. Its type specimen is UA13459 (complete exoskeleton) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gerastos horizon, Mrakib, which is in an Eifelian marine mudstone/shale in the Taboumakhlouf Formation of Morocco.
