Taxonomy
Equus holmesi was named by Hay (1921) [not mentioned by Kurten_&_Anderson 1980]. Its type specimen is USNM 8642, a set of teeth (Four upper teeth of the right side—namely, pre- molars 3 and 4, molars 1 and 2), and it is a 3D body fossil.
