Taxonomy
Equus pacificus was named by Leidy (1868) [also said to be 1869]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was synonymized subjectively with Equus occidentalis by Leidy (1873) and Schultz (1938); it was considered a nomen dubium by Savage (1951).
