Escavadodon zygus

Taxonomy
Escavadodon zygus was named by Rose and Lucas (2000). Its type specimen is NMMNH P22051, a partial skeleton (most of a skeleton including dentaries, back of cranium, several, and most postcrania), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Escavada Wash (Upper), which is in a Torrejonian terrestrial horizon in the Nacimiento Formation of New Mexico. It is the type species of Escavadodon.
