Taxonomy
Connagnostus aversus was named by Shergold (1980). Its type specimen is CPC 15115, a pygidium, and it is a mold. Its type locality is Chatsworth Plains D124, which is in an Iverian open shallow subtidal grainstone in the Chatsworth Formation of Australia.
