Momipites strictus
Taxonomy
Momipites strictus was named by Frederiksen and Christopher (1978). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is Plate 1, fig. 2, Slide DC-12 (5), coorÂdinates 47.4 x 104.7, a microspore, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS Clubhouse Crossroads corehole 1, sample DC-12, which is in a Paleocene marine limestone in the Black Mingo Formation of South Carolina.
